   Hi,

   I have tried to make my own patterns – but I am working in Affinity Designer and I don´t have the same opportunities as shown in the video with Photoshop.

   1. I don´t have the option filter/other/offset when I am making my creation.

   2. I can´t save my creation as a pattern as you do in photoshop. Therefore, I can´t bring in a pattern in my other layer and make the repetition of a pattern.

   What to do?

   I have a question as I’m not sure what I am doing wrong. I have made several 3×3 sized pattern templates but when I use the shapes (such as the flowers) and go thru the steps like you show after I merge the layers I am not able to get the filter > other > offset to work. I get just the ring in the center showing up with the dotted outline of the flower still there but no flower. In the video it shows the lines the same as I have after coloring them but when you merged them the lines disappeared but mine don’t and I don’t know if I missed something or not doing it correctly. I have replayed several times but not catching it.

       Hi Di,

       I don’t have any way to record my screen but I did go to YouTube and searched and found a couple of videos that showed photoshop and some glitches where they have had the with same problem I was having. I just deleted that template and started over and so far it has worked great, even when I did the flowers this time. And I Thank you for getting back to me as I am learning a lot about photoshop that I never knew existed. Especially since I really never used it much before because of the learning curve but you have made it simple. (Along with Shawn’s course, They go hand in hand perfectly)

   It shows an easy way to do seamless patterns and export as a png, and a way you can test them to see how they will look as a seamless pattern.
